Innovation is another name for Twitter. Over time we see it innovating something new all the time. Like allowing mobile users to tweet from SMS while Sandy ravaged America. Simple yet useful. But now Twitter is going to give micro-bloggers on the move the ability to add better graphic details to their tweets with its new Photo Filters to its mobile applications for the Android and iOS platforms.
You can now edit and add photos to your tweets directly from the Twitter app for your mobile. The application also sports eight different photo effects or filters provided by Aviary that you can use to make your photos look stylish before adding them to your tweet.
So first we checked out the video and with one touch your photos can have their colour and lights balanced. Just one press and it is that simple. And then the video started showing off the other filters. After that we could not resist ourselves and downloaded the latest update from to try it out ourselves.
Gotta tell you we simply enjoyed it. The Auto enhances the filters and the scale and crop are accurate smooth and seamless. It is way better than instagram in which you end up looking like chimps with its gaudy effects. Aviary has done a great job and all its filters look really natural. The best thing we noticed that the effects were also good for cameras with less megapixels; something that cannot also be said for instagram. In instagram’s defence it has more effects, but twitter is definitely the winner when it comes to quick-fixing your pics before tweeting them.
Now if you really want to compare filters twitter Photo filters’ closest competitor should be from Pixlr-o-matic. I would say that they go head to head but once again twitter wins the quick fix section.
However let the masses judge this. Try all of these out and tell us which you prefer in the comments section. ‘Nuff said.
