VIEWSFacebook never cease to surprise us. Whatever it does, it does with style and if you were ever thought that it is going to fade then wait. The Facebook has come up with an alluring new thing( though not the newest thing in the market)- shopping on Facebook. Well ladies, now you have one more strong reason to be on Facebook all day long. A convenience or a tricky affair, this is going to be a hit with every shopaholic.
If you remember in July Facebook said that it is contemplating about adding the digital storefronts and buy buttons to the retailers pages. The social networking giant has collaborated with the e-commerce giant Shopify and this partnership is sure to add new colours and refresh the online shopping.
The thing is as simple as it can get- the merchants who are using the Shopify’s services( the number is as huge as 175,000) can now sell their products directly in the new ‘shop section’ on the Facebook page. This is a remarkable feat and a total turnaround for the mobile e-commerce business.
Till now we were all thinking of getting our stuff from the e-commerce sites but now this seems perfect for the mobile users and especially the Facebook addicts. The shop section added on the Facebook page will help the merchants showcase their products and all that a merchant needs to do is active the Facebook channel sales via Shopify dashboard to start with it.
The merchant can direct the customer to their online store or if the customer wants, he can also buy the thing directly from the Facebook. And, in case they want to negotiate a deal then they are free to message the seller directly. Shopify will take charge of all the money matters while the customers have the option of saving the payment information for the future. Facebook is not taking a bit out of the revenue as of now.
In a blog post, Shopify said,“Existing Facebook Store apps don’t work on mobile devices, which is how most people now use Facebook. As well, existing Facebook Store apps only add a tab to your page, while the new Facebook Shop section appears as a larger section on your main Facebook Page. This means more people will be able to easily discover your products. Finally, the new Shop section includes a subscribe button that lets people get notified when you add new products.”
Currently, the shopping section on the Facebook is out for some thousands of testers ( mainly the Shopify customers) but soon all the Shopify merchant’s on Facebook can have access to it.
“Our goal is to make it easy to sell products where the customers are,” says Shopify’s director of product, Satish Kanwar, “and increasingly that’s on mobile.”
Gear up yourself for some amazing time shopping on Facebook. Shopping is fun all the time and with this superb arrangement, we can only give a big thumbs up and wait for it to see work really.
