VIEWSFacebook is alert about the fake likes by fake users more so than ever. Facebook is the biggest and arguably most powerful social network in the world with 1.55 billion active monthly users.
Facebook announced in one of the pages it’s resentment against the increasing trends of fake likes for fan pages and also warned the fan pages about the upcoming steps that it might take to prevent further cases of fake likes.
From time to time fan pages have been involved in fraudulent ways of achieving likes, be it malware, compromised accounts, deceived users, or purchased bulk Likes. But such compromised ways to earning likes for the page is of benefit to no one. The fan pages don’t get the real idea of their fan bases.
Facebook further announced an automated system which will help to remove less than 1% of the fake likes of all the fan pages. The improved systems have been specifically configured to identify and take action against suspicious Likes which have not been abiding by the rules of Facebook.
It strongly expressed its disapproval against these practices and also added that it defies Facebook’s mission of helping the world share and the need for people and customers to authentically connect to the Pages they care about. Social Media Marketing is more about real engagement. So, it is needless to have fake likes because it is not going to give any real engagement of the product. Social media marketing gives you the power to learn more about your audience, their interests, and collect feedback.

Facebook Strongly feels that taking these steps will give the fan pages a better idea about the real fans and thus give a better idea of demographics and fan count.
